Remember when we were happy?

There was a world music sound out in the late 80's that was destroying the horrors of the LA hair bands and the awful American pop mainstream. Then of course Grunge came soon after and made us realize how depressed and angst ridden Gen X really was and of course only heroin would cure that etc etc. All social engineering probably.

But listening to this I recall that expansive strong sound that came from The Sugarcubes, early Chili Peppers, and Jane's Addiction to mention a few. Its against the law I think now to feel this good or let musicians generate this much power or life energy. They'd probably be labeled terrorists or something. Westerners often make fun of Bjork, becuz she is a genius and Americans hate female geniuses. She's so damn natural. She has that kind of talent where there is an innate brattiness due to how easy it comes to her...I am thankful for her presence on this planet during my lifetime. Do you know how hard it is to find truly talented voices nowadays and real women at that? She reminds me of Mitchell, Garland and other women that just had it. Not this marketed boredom now. Its like real artistic talent is a threat to the corporate sameness culture that has us all firmly by the balls. She just makes me so damn happy and for me thats very hard to do. Its becuz she genuinely deserves that reaction from me, becuz she genuinely gives to her audience. Its also due to them being wonderfully nonsensical at times, which makes my workaholic mind at ease do to the fact I do not have to figure anything out, becuz I cant.
