Police Say Hands Are Tied In Sex Offender Issue

This article was published a day later. http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/2011_0329cops_say_hands_are_tied_on_homeless_sex_offenders/ THATS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING. But I guess being so busy I never said it to the public. I agree completely 'why not have shelters just for them'. Now maybe its easier to understand why homelessness for a productive, sober person is very hard. There are no shelters in nicer areas for, well, 'nicer' people. Why isnt there a shelter in Southie? Why isnt there one year round near Harvard or in other places that are decent? We need homeless hostel type places or the old rooming house idea but not an SRO involving going through hoops for som institutionalized system or an extension of the abusive shelter system. I'd get harassed there too probably. The same bad behavior the shitty homeless people who CANT behave is the same in an SRO when staff isnt there at night anyway. In the old rooming houses the manager always lived in an apartment on the first floor. I used to stay in them. There was less ill treatment and infighting of tenants when there were rooming houses becuz people go to rooming houses under the idea that they are free citizens renting a room not shelter rats who are institutionalized. We need a combo between something that attracts people who are independant and high to medium functioning, who dont want a free ride and know how to act but also the security of staff who live there. The problem with the old rooming houses is when crack came in and the 90's was full of herion it just went downhill. It was all drugs then. A person like me has to be afraid to rent a room becuz of harassment. But I also fear shelters for the same reason. Before Bush I never had a problem in rooming houses being harassed- I would get gang stalking outside in the neighborhood - this was around 1998 or so. But the people in the rooming houses were kind to me and the manager was usually cool and knew how to size up tenants. The problem nowadays is always corruption. The way this country is set up now it seems that problems arise from a criminal element operating under the radar or from the authorities themselves. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am not qualified to think of an answer. I know that hostels are always a place where Targets get gang stalking activity, usually from multiple people on staff or perps come in as guests. I have experienced this to be very overt. Its like a psy ops unit just takes over the hostel. Its outrageous actually. Never have I been in a hostel and not gotten overt gang stalking activity. Phoenix AZ, Chicago ILL, St Louis MO, Boston MA (both summer and winter hostels). There arent professional perps in the shelters anymore as nothing seems tactical. But I do get harrassment from little cliques within the shelter and its based on rumours. You would have to get a place going that refused to play ball with both criminals, crooked cops as well as corrupt govt. I dont even know if its possible. I know one thing, even without including organized stalking and harassment of TI's into the list of problems something has got to be done about the shelters as they are concerning human and civil rights abuses. Just becuz a bunch of sex offenders are in there or women with a jail mentality, doesnt mean that I should have to be treated like that as well.
